if not for land, how far could i go? how long could i endure? how expansive could i become?

yet...if not for land, how could i know myself?

the point at which land and sea meet is a nebulous expanse of space-time. to say that one is the sea, and the other, land, is to misunderstand their relation. for there is no real distinction between them, only a perceived difference reinforced by language. rather, the relation between sea and land constitutes a continuity of shared energy, expressed by different bodies: one the sea, the other, land.

the intertwining of sea and land often results in a release, or creation, of energy– the crashing wave– which expresses the ‘end’ of one body’s force and the re-beginning of another. the crashing wave is the result of it’s affects: those who ride the wave, those who tend the land.

who rides the wave? who tends the land? the life-force of all that came before us, they who are still affecting us and shaping our lives today.

the crashing wave is an expression of life-force. it is the expression of past lives in this life. the crashing wave is not proof that the dead are among us; rather the wave is evidence that death is merely conceptual, not real. Life is the perpetual recomposition of energy, the transfer of energy from one material body to another. from human body...to elemental wave– this is a movement towards aloha, becoming increasingly interconnected with all of nature.

the wave crashes. and one remembers.
